Faith Life

Friday Chapel

Each Friday morning while school is in session, AVA has worship services for elementary and high school students and their teachers. Worship teaches the basics of moral principles, how religion affects our worldview, read on special resources, or view several master thesis on this topic. Our own AVA Praise Band provides the music, and staff members or special guests speak. While messages are Christ-centered, an effort is made to be respectful of the great diversity of religious views of our students and their families.

AVA Worship Team

Internationally acclaimed musician, Magrus Borges, heads up our student praise band, which plays songs in English and Portuguese. The group is currently working with Mr. Borges to compose original songs in both languages and produce an album.

AVA Discipleship Group

Twice each week after school, secondary teachers Maurice Harton and Amanda Vander Klay facilitate a program that teaches students how to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ and actively share it with others.

Sunday English Services

Pastor Paul Lambach, AVA Biblical Studies teacher, pastors the Sunday English worship service, which is held every Sunday from 4:00-6:00PM during the school year.  Services are open to the general public.

The AVA Worship Team leads singing in English and Portuguese. AVA students provide simultaneous translation of the messages for people who are not fluent in English. A children’s service is offered separately after the opening worship music.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
