International Accreditation
AVA hosted a joint accreditation visit from the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS), which first accredited us in 1991, and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) during the week of March 4. The three member team was on campus for 3days and examined procedures, faculty, administration, policies, parent involvement, and school effectiveness.
As a result of the visit, the teams will recommend to the accrediting bodies that AVA be given a new five-year accreditation with SACS and be accredited by ACSI for the first time.
Brazilian Accreditation
AVA’s request for Brazilian accreditation is currently before the CEE. Mr. John Moon met with the committee on Thursday and discussed our proposed By-Laws and status as an International School in Para. We will provide the CEE with some documents from International schools in Brazil this week and hope to be able to move toward completion of the accreditation process within the next few weeks.
2007-2008 Tuition Cost
Tuition increases for 2007-2008 will be held to about 3%. However, the cost to missionary organizations will be higher because of the 4.5% decline in the value of the US Dollar during the year
Scholarships to needy families will continue to be offered, when funds are available.
Encourage your friends who are interested in an international education for their children and have children K4-5th grade to talk with us. We will be taking a limited number of students, who speak some English, in the upper grades.
